Looking for people that call Jakarta home!

Hello everyone! My name is Silviu, I come from Romania and I am very pleased to meet you all. But enough about me, I am sure that you are much more interested in finding out what this post is all about.... OK, pay very close attention and read these lines, slowly and carefully, I am looking for people that call Jakarta home!!!....I am very serious about it!...Here is what I want you to do.

I want you to remember a day in your life….A day when you felt so tired that all you wanted was to get home fast, and rest in your comfortable bed; you remember that day don’t you. On the way home, the first thing you had to go through was the traffic, and the traffic in Jakarta is scary, to say the least… but somehow, someway you made it home

Now I want you to imagine this…imagine that you are there now, opening the door to the house ready to hit the bed and rest. As you open the door you start seeing many cigarette buds on the floor, plastic cups and tissues  thrown everywhere, plates with leftover food on the table, and when you take a closer look you also see cockroaches and ants and worms feasting in the food…aaghh…that’s just disgusting… isn’t it?!...

You start to ask yourself - Is this where i live?...it can't be?! i mean who would live in a place like this...With a frightened look on your face you start looking around for familiar things, at the same time hoping and praying - Please god don't let this to be my home! But through all the garbage and filth that surrounds you, you spot your furniture, scratched, dirty, but still your furniture...- What happened? You ask, in a desperate need of an answer, but suddenly, a horrible smell hits you, so horrible that it almost makes you vomit. As you see the bathroom door open you think about the sewerage system as the source of the smell.

You start going crazy flushing and throwing water down the drainage system hoping that the smell will go away, but it doesn't, it keeps on coming back and is so disgusting that you can barely hold yourself from vomiting, so you rush out of the bathroom and you shut the door hoping that the smell won’t spread everywhere… But there is still a smell that you feel, you start shouting - What is is now?, hoping again for an answer from somewhere, from anywhere…with a crazy look on your face you rush to the kitchen, on the way to the kitchen you also notice that the walls don’t look the same, they are filthy and scratched now, some walls have writings on them as well…oh wait…sorry, the writings on the wall are from kids, cause that’s what kids do!, they write on walls, right?

But there’s no time to think about that now, you are determined to find the source of this smell. You make it to the kitchen and you look for the garbage bin, but you can’t see it because of the garbage that covered it, and the stench that it generates it’s horrible - So that's where this smell is coming from... you say to yourself. All of a sudden the garbage starts moving - Is is alive...?... As you get closer a couple of rats start running around, trying to hide from you, scared just like you are, you grab the first thing that's next to you and the chase is on…but after a while you give up.

Exhausted and angry you sit down on a chair, and with your head in your hands you start to think about a solution because you can't live, sleep, eat or raise a child in that kind of home - So what can I do?....let me answer that for you…You Clean It! That’s what you do.  Why should You clean it? Because you don’t want to live and sleep and eat or raise a child in filth…do you…? Of course not, no one does.
We all want a Clean and Healthy Home for us and our family, right...? And you don’t expect someone else to come and clean your home for you; You Do It Yourself, because it’s Your Home

The reason why I am telling You this is because that’s exactly How Jakarta Looks Like Right Now! And Jakarta Is OUR HOME. I mean…I understand that you may be living in an apartment or in a house, we are in the 21st century now and we no longer sleep outside, now we need a roof over our heads to keep us safe from the rain, walls for a little privacy, windows for the light and the air to come in, and so on so forth, the point is… that apartment and that house are in Jakarta! So Here, In Jakarta is where You Live, you may be going away for a holiday, or for work or in the week-ends but you always come back to Your Home, Jakarta, right. Because Here is where You eat, Here is where You sleep, Here is where You laugh and cry, Here is where You succeed or fail, Here is where You enjoy your time with Your friends and family, Here is where You play with Your children and Here is where You raise Your children, because HereIS Your Home! Jakarta… Is Your Home!

Now Stop for just 5 minutes from whatever it is that you’re doing, and take a good look outside, take a good look around you and be honest with me, but more importantly, be honest with Yourself, and tell me, are You Happy with what You See? Are You Happy with Your Home? Is THIS the environment that You want yOUR Children to play in, to grow up in...?...… if the answer to all of these questions is No! Then it’s Time To Do Something About It! It's Time To Clean Our Home!

i am very interested to hear your thoughts on this so please leave a comment

  2. I am also DEAD SERIOUS about THIS, JAKARTA!! But I'm sure and you know the most of people who live in Jakarta already feel so comfortable about those situations, e.g. traffic, people ON the train roof, people hang on the bus door, trashes everywhere, etc.
    COMFORT..
Imagine this word, COMFORT. If some people already feel comfortable with his/her situation, so no one can change. So stupid that you are lying yourself. Besides, they already DON'T CARE about everything that you should concern!
Also, the government don't have a power to make these things right.

    1. first of all, i want to thank you for reading my post, secondly i understand exactly how you feel about people being COMFORTABLE (which is funny when you think about it isn't it, i mean knowing that there are people out there that feel comfortable living among garbage, rats and cockroaches) and i also understand how you feel about the government, but don't worry, because i am not looking for people that are comfortable or to wake up the govt., not for the moment at least, what i am looking for is people LIKE YOU, that are not comfortable and want to DO SOMETHING, so join me, join us, because i do have a strategy in place, and together we will make a difference, this i promise you.
